Well! There’s a lot to say when it comes to Kimeera at the moment so I thought I’d grasp the nettle and all that and fill you in so to speak. By the time you read this we should have shook hands on a new ranch in Grantham which has, wait for it…windows! AND air conditioning AND a boardroom you could drive around in a golfing buggy – impractical I know, but you would just because you could I suppose.
Our new developer Stewart “Stewie” Leonard is settling in well and definitely shouldering some of the workload that has been surrounding our resident web genius and style icon John Pilgrim. The all round Kimeera showcase of illustration, film (applauded by Stephen Fry through Twitter), music, web design, brand design and development is starting to bear fruit with daily web and phone enquiries. BOXTOPIA (www.boxtopia.co.uk) is such a radical move from its previous incarnation – one of our marketing consultants commented how bold a move it was by MD, Robert Boucher to green light such a project. It hadn’t really occurred to me because we’ve been working on it for the last 8 months but, when you step back and look at it, it really is – so well done Mr. Boucher. Don’t care if it sounds like creeping publically – WELL DONE MR. BOUCHER! Without clients out there willing to crack the whip to push us harder creatively we wouldn’t have new clients coming on board wanting more of the same approach. So hats off to him I say.
And while our hats are mid-air, let it also be for a certain Tarnia Venning-Heyhoe who pulled off a massive first generation event with bloomin’ flying colours. The Heroes’ Festival was launched on the 26th June to over 12,000 people and raised over £30,000 for the Help For Heroes charity. Incredible! She’d never organised such an event and it went down brilliantly – she couldn’t have done it without the unwavering support of Adrian Johnston at Newark Showground and a long list of other helpers including close friends, her mum and obviously the forces. Kimeera provided a free website, youtube films, poster designs and all sorts of other things. And gladly too! We’ve met lots of other brilliant people along the way and have the “Wash up” tomorrow as I write this which should be a hoot!! Have a look on www.flickr.com/kimeera to see some shots of the event and other disturbing Kimeera strangeness.
And, finally – while the hats are up and people are staring at each other wondering when they’re going back down, keep them up a little longer for my buddy Ed. After the dance off this time last year he demonstrated a level of dancing that defied his little size 5 feet (and everything else). His performance caught the attention of 4Networking.biz managing director Brad Burton (a legitimate LUNATIC) and only a week ago he followed through (not literally – although it wasn’t ruled out with the nerves) with the challenge set down by Brad and they battled it like camp dancing gladiators. It was legendary and has set the 16,000 (yep! 16,000) strong network alight. Thomas’s teaser trailers have had everyone laughing everything off and the final goes live Friday 17th July. Have a look on www.kimeerafilms.co.uk to see them in action. Genius, genius, genius! I guess I should have known Ed was destined for dancing legend when I saw him out-belly dance a dancer at a Persian restaurant in London in our first year in business together!!
So, have a great August you lovely people and please join me in raising our hats one last time to visionary clients like Robert Boucher of BOXTOPIA, brave risk takers like Tarnia of The Heroes Festival and to my best buddy for doing possibly the best splits I have ever seen! You have to love them all ;-) Peep Peep.
